FULBRIGHT APPLICATION The primary reason I created a personal website was to provide immediate material support for my Fulbright application for the host institution (The Academy of the Arts in Iceland) in the hope of receiving a "letter of invitation" to support my application. I created the website in May of 2007, received the invitation from the Academy in July, and submitted my application to the U.S. Fulbright folks on August 1. Sometime during the fall, my application and supporting materials were reviewed by a peer committee in the U.S. The first week in January, I received notice that I had been recommended. At present, my materials are being considered by the Iceland Fulbright Committee, which, hopefully, will accept the recommendation. If everything works out, I will teach and direct at the Academy in Iceland, January through May, 2009. |
